In April 2009, Ministers agreed to release the draft National Indigenous Law and Justice Framework for public consultation. Consultation was open for three months and closed on 31 July 2009.

The final National Indigenous Law and Justice Framework was endorsed by SCAG in November 2009 and can be downloaded here along with a Good Practice Appendix.
